At First Just Ghostly

The windows were filled with photographs. The frames were shining and new, but the photographs were faded, some of them such pale shadows of their former selves that I couldn’t make them out at all.

I took a couple of photographs of the whole facade, and went on my way. Later, on the laptop screen, I looked more closely at each of those old prints. Some faces I recognised, some were entirely unknown to me.

Below is a selection of them. Though the faces were at first just ghostly, I’ve enlarged them and processed them to produce as clear a set of images as is possible.

I wonder: how many of these persons from the dim and distant past do you recognise? Also: who is that woman with them, and what is she doing?

To be continued.
