The Devil is a Roaring Lion

1 Peter 5:8 ‘Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour’

How is the devil like a roaring lion?

1)      He is a natural killer, a murderer from the beginning. Those who get too close or enter his territory will experience his rage.

2)      His roar is terrible; we are aware of his existence and can hear him long before we see him; indeed few ever do see him.

3)      He’s a hunter; seldom can he outrun us, but he does lie in wait and hunts stealthily with his pride.

4)      Many humans secretly admire him, imitating his looks and making cuddly, unthreatening images of him.

5)      He’s hungry and easily angered; approach him with caution.

6)      He’s powerful, being far stronger than any of us.

7)      He’s an endangered species; his natural habitat is shrinking and he finds himself increasingly encaged.
