Don’t Underestimate the Hurricane

Let no one doubt the power of the wind. Trees felled, towns battered, woodlands bereft of leaves and branches. Yesterday, even the sun was obscured, as the hurricane blew over a blanket of Saharan dust, turning our star orange and our skies a dull red.

The Holy Spirit, compared to the wind by Jesus in John’s gospel, sometimes has His power and dignity overlooked. He may be gentle and a stark contrast to the loud, screeching voices of this world, but do not underestimate Him. He is the third Person of the Triune God; His power and majesty are indescribable and His glory beyond our comprehension! That such a One should dwell in the hearts of men!

The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
