Tonight, before the Church Meeting, I planted six dahlias in the chapel grounds. Dahlias are wonderful flowers. I saw a man on Gardeners’ World a few weeks ago who was obsessed with them. He filled his garden with their blooms. I’m not as dedicated a lover of the dahlia nation as that, but I’m getting there.
These beautiful flowers remind me of believers. They are particularly vulnerable to frosts and cold bites, but flourish in sunshine and love to produce their glorious blooms. Though they die back, they return, bigger and stronger than ever. I shall post pictures when they grow.
