Beat Your Swords

As the United Kingdom and other nations supply the Ukrainians with weaponry against the Russian bear, and nervous Baltic states begin hastily completing NATO application forms, it is clear that man’s capacity for warfare is little diminished since ancient times. Defence budgets are rising as governments consider their own security, or plot mastery over their neighbours.

At the Royal Armouries in Leeds are stashed and exhibited many thousands of weapons, mainly, but not exclusively, archaic. The day is coming, however, when no-one shall need weaponry, ministers of defence or military forces. He whose government will cover the entire planet is also Prince of Peace. Nations' armed forces may keep (or break) the peace as best they can, but Messiah’s return will finally render them all redundant.

He shall judge between the nations, And rebuke many people; They shall beat their swords into plowshares, And their spears into pruning hooks; Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, Neither shall they learn war anymore. Isaiah 2:4
