Good News
No-one is born a Christian. It is a decision that has to be made. God draws people to Himself and he enables them to respond to Him. The fact that you're reading this now may indicate that God is at work in your heart. The book of Ecclesiastes says that God 'has also set eternity in the human heart'. That's why so many people feel empty and unfulfilled; we are spiritual beings as well as physical ones. A person who ignores God remains unfulfilled.
The Bible teaches that God is righteous and must punish sin. At the same time, He loves sinners and longs to spend eternity with them. He Himself became a man and died on the cross, that He Himself might pay the debt we owed.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life -John 3:16

The hymn writer Charles Wesley put becoming a Christian like this:
Long my imprisoned spirit lay,
Fast bound in sin and nature’s night;
Thine eye diffused a quickening ray—
I woke, the dungeon flamed with light;
My chains fell off, my heart was free,
I rose, went forth, and followed Thee.
Still the small inward voice I hear,
That whispers all my sins forgiven;
Still the atoning blood is near,
That quenched the wrath of hostile Heaven.
I feel the life His wounds impart;
I feel the Saviour in my heart.
No condemnation now I dread;
Jesus, and all in Him, is mine;
Alive in Him, my living Head,
And clothed in righteousness divine,
Bold I approach th’eternal throne,
And claim the crown, through Christ my own.
