Giant Viper’s Bugloss

I have already written about Viper's Bugloss. In London’s Temple Gardens, however, I found growing Giant Viper’s Bugloss. It is an endangered species, so full credit for the gardeners’ inclusion in their magnificent borders.

In the book of Genesis, Satan appears as a serpent, commonly considered to be a snake. In the book of Revelation chapters 12, 13, 16 and 20, however, he is a dragon, great and powerful. Although the Evil One can appear in many forms, including an angel of light, might he have grown and developed in these past millennia? In skill and subtlety, very possibly, for he has enjoyed much additional practice; in success, certainly, for many have chosen to go to that place ‘prepared for the devil and his angels’, despite our gracious God’s provision of an alternative. Whatever his size and propensity to grow, however, there is One who shall always be greater, bolder, wiser and stronger: Christ Jesus

You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. 1 John 4:4, NKJV
