Lessons from the Rainbow 2
We often think about that first rainbow after Noah’s Flood. How pretty it must have looked, how reassuring, confirming as it did God’s promise. But what of the second?
Presumably, a second occurred not terribly long after the first. Then, the voice of God could not be heard, the flood waters had not just receded and the marvellous feeling of terra firma was no longer novel. Yet the rains came down, reminding Noah and his children of the previous deluge. Would the rain ever stop? Should they seek higher ground? Had God changed His mind? That rainbow must have come as a wonderful reassurance- God keeps His promises.
Not a word failed of any good thing which the Lord had spoken to the house of Israel. All came to pass. Joshua 21:45
