Lessons from the Rainbow 3

Although we occasionally see rainbows on a pleasant day, too often their gorgeous colours are contrasted with the dark greys of a swollen sky. Somehow, the rain clouds add to the bow’s beauty; from it they certainly cannot detract. Likewise, when we meditate upon the promises of God in the good times, we are often blessed; when we depend upon them in the dark times, we are blessed indeed. Perhaps this is why the Good Shepherd takes His sheep through the storm. Only then do they better appreciate the brightness and beauty of His words, the faithfulness of His promises.
