Nicaraguan Schools Work

It was our privilege last week to hear Barry Davis, UFM missionary to Nicaragua, who has been worshipping with us on his year’s furlough. His work is based around Christian education, which proves a fertile ground for gospel witness and material for prayer. There is more about his work on the UFM website though a snapshot I relay here:

Students come from all socio-economic backgrounds and most have no evangelical connections apart from at school. Both schools began with a handful of students and each now has around 300 students, over 20 teachers and a number of international volunteers.  The model of contextualising the gospel in education has proved to be very effective and attractive to non-believers. We have seen children converted, who then go home and influence their family with the gospel.

As a chapel, we made a financial contrubution towards the work. Interestingly, Barry is keen to have people go and visit this coming autumn. Might you consider it?
