Praying for Britain at Nelson's Salvation Army

A number of believers met at the Salvation Army centre in Nelson to pray for our nation yesterday. We prayed for political leaders as well as for the state of the churches. Politically and spiritually, the nation’s prospects look grim. Yet we pray that God would move again in our generation, to raise up a people who love the truth and are not ashamed to proclaim it with boldness.

I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—  for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. (1 Timothy 2)
