Praying for Hetton Chapel

Some of you will know that an attempt has been made to purchase premises for Martin Top to plant a church in the Yorkshire Dales. An offer was accepted on a redundant chapel some months ago, but the negotiations with the present owners have been long and frustrating. The crunch time is now upon us: please pray that the Lord would give us wisdom in our dealings with a rather canny and highly experienced vendor of redundant chapels.

For those who know the area, we are seeking to re-open Hetton Chapel (between Skipton and Threshfield) as a place of Gospel witness but also as a resource for the local community. If it remains in its current sorry and abandoned state, or just becomes a rich man’s second home, the village and its environs will be the poorer for it.

Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.
