Shepherd's Arms
The Shepherds Arms Hotel at Cumbria’s Ennerdale Bridge is a beautifully named public house. It reminded me of the Good Shepherd, whose arms are strong and whose reach is long. He rescues lost sheep from the most awful places, and carries them back on their long journey home. Furthermore, He guards them from wolves and hirelings, protecting them while they rest and feeding them when they wake. Ennerdale Bridge is very pretty, but the Good Shepherd is truly beautiful.
But his bow remained in strength,
And the arms of his hands were made strong
By the hands of the Mighty God of Jacob
From there is the Shepherd, the Stone of Israel.
Genesis 49:24
