Stiff College

Cliff College, once a bastion of evangelical Methodism, has caught the contagion which is destroying the entire denomination. Dr Aaron Edwards, who lectured there, wrote on Twitter:

Homosexuality is invading the Church.

Evangelicals no longer see the severity of this b/c they're busy apologising for their apparently barbaric homophobia, whether or not it's true.

This *is* a "Gospel issue", by the way. If sin is no longer sin, we no longer need a Saviour.

This expresses the orthodoxy that was once the position taken by Methodism, but is now enough for its author to be sacked for daring to say it. A college spokesman told the Daily Telegraph:

“As a Methodist institution, Cliff College is committed to being a safe and hospitable place where those with differing convictions are welcomed and encouraged to live and learn together as faithful disciples of Christ.”

Those with differing convictions are welcomed and encouraged? Was he being ironic? The college has just sacked a staff member for doing exactly that. The sooner this institution closes its doors, the better.
