Climbing Boulsworth
This month I climbed Boulsworth Hill, that big sullen bulk overlooking Nelson and Colne. It’s one of those hills which denies the climber a view of its pinacle until he practically gets there. I felt I was nearing its top, called Lad Law, until I walked a little farther and saw there was yet another climb, and another, and another. At 1700 feet it’s not particularly large and is only 618th tallest in England. Yet like many hills, its trig point cannot be seen from its bottom or middle.
Few of us can see our last day, our death day, the climax of our lives. So just enjoy the view and keep walking. The Lord will call you home at a time of His appointing; do not fret that He chooses not to share His plans with you or show you coming weeks and years. Sufficient for the day is the evil thereof, and with it the knowledge and strength that the Lord daily provides.
“Behold, God is my salvation,
I will trust and not be afraid;
‘For Yah, the Lord, is my strength and song;
He also has become my salvation.”
Isaiah 12:2
We may see little till we get to the top, but once there, we see everything.
