Cops and Corporations Tremble

As I walked about the streets of Sheffield on Monday morning, it was not long before I came across the ubiquitous Progress Pride flags fluttering in the wind. No British city (and even some villages) can bear to exist without spending thousands of pounds promoting sexual ideology. Later on, I came across posters advertising a large Pride gathering, but this one was different. Upon it was a little ditty with subtle, religious overtone:

Queers of Sheffield rejoice!

Cops and corporations tremble…

This I thought quite interesting. Companies, public services and branches of local government nowadays fall over themselves to subsidise and promote homosexual and transgender celebrations and marches; Pride is now so mainstream, a bandwagon onto which all firms and organisations must be seen to scramble. Yet here there is a reaction against it. Perhaps the Sheffield organisers can see through the faux sympathy of these corporate bodies and governmental organisations. The Pride movement, as the call 'to tremble' above testifies, is deeply subversive. It is subversive towards society, theology, our Judeo-Christian heritage and general family life. So this Pride poster, as opposed to all the others I have seen, is at least honest.
