Bankers' Brolly, Preachers' Folly

‘A banker is one who lends you his umbrella when it’s sunny and wants it back when it rains’.

This quote is attributed to Mark Twain, which means little, seeing as 95% of all witty statements are reckoned his. Yet isn’t the quip also true of prosperity preachers? When you send them money, they promise more. When you run out, they promise nothing.
