Adriatic Bellflower

I this is campanula garganica Adriatic bellflower which I found growing in southern Scotland late this autumn. Compared to its colleagues in the Mediterranean, it does not seem so colourful, but in those cold Scottish hills and valleys, it still added a welcome dash of hue. God oft-times sends us little blessings, mercies and tokens of His love. Compared to the glories of paradise, or even the wonderful occurrences in others’ lives, they might seem trivial, pale or insignificant. Yet we should treasure them for what they are: kisses from heaven.

Do not despise little, pale flowers, nor the day of small mercies.
