Burnley Evangelical Church

On Sunday 9th August, Salem Chapel’s 210th anniversary, we planted a new church in the town of Burnley. Meeting at the CVS Building on Yorkshire Street on Sundays at 3pm.

You are welcome to join us. We are currently using the rear entrance on Blakey Street (BB11 3BT). There is parking available in the town, side streets and the carpark of TK Maxx, which is about a minute’s walk. There is some disabled parking right by the door, but this is limited and you would be well advised to arrive early. We currently get between 20 and 30.

The pastor of Martin Top Chapel does most of the preaching, though others also partcipate. We have the Lord's Supper on the last Sunday of the month. We read from the Bible, pray, sing hymns (some old, some new) and hear the scriptures expounded. Below are some of our Bible talks, which have been going through the book of Nehemiah. It is named after a man who felt God's call to rebuild the broken walls of Jerusalem back in ancient times after they had been ruined. It seems a fitting theme for us, too.
