Ainsdale Evangelical Church
A fortnight ago, I preached at Ainsdale Evangelical Church in leafy Southport. I don’t know it very well around there, but the map places it close-by the even leafier golf courses and mansions of Formby. My satnav led me across a single track lane, like a raised causeway across west Lancashire’s fertile plains, to get there. A pleasant journey it was, but the destination was even pleasanter.
There was a real spirituality about the church, singing lovely old gospel hymns sandwiched between times of sharing and open prayer. They have a real passion for the lost and sound teaching. One of their trustees is Alec Passmore, a man I love, and the following Sunday’s preacher was Jacob Prasch, a man I very much respect.
