Anglican Cursillo at York

A large gathering of the Anglican Cursillo Movement took place in York yesterday. Anglicans waving banners and singing choruses met in the town centre and marched to the Minster for a service. The Cursillo website doesn't give much away regarding beliefs so I'm not entirely sure what it stands for other than encouraging its members. There was no preaching and the literature being distributed was about the movement rather than Christ. Nevertheless, it was encouraging to see Anglicans taking to the streets and proclaiming their faith in a godless world. Banners stating God's love and the Christian attributes of faith and joy were a welcome relief from the materialism that pervades much of our high streets.
