A Better Scotland

Twenty-four hours ago, Scotland become a better place.

Humza Yousaf, the nation’s First Minister, resigned ahead of a confidence motion he was likely to lose. Despite his show of performing Islamic prayers at Bute House last month, his was a godless, socially liberal agenda bordering on the authoritarian. Take his Hate Crime Act, for example. This legislation was utterly illiberal and potentially turned Scotland into a Police State. Thankfully, it was as farcical as it was terrifying, with Police Scotland being inundated with thousands of bogus hate crime complaints, many of which related to Yousaf’s own infamous speech about the excessive number of white people in public life.

Similarly, his SNP’s Gender Recognition Bill, which was passed in December 2022, was another deeply concerning piece of flawed SNP ideology. Only a month later, double rapist Isla Bryson (who born Adam Bryson) 'changed gender' while waiting to stand trial and was remanded in a women’s prison. Imagine all the opportunities this afforded a dangerous male rapist, with hundreds of vulnerable women unable to leave the building. You just couldn’t make it up.

Others in the SNP will now be jockeying for position, including evangelical Christian Kate Forbes. Although a slim case can be made for Scottish Independence, the SNP is moral quagmire, and anyone who served in government with, or under Yousuf, must share the blame for his stinking mess. Bad government and evil governors will always be the most eloquent reminders of our need for Christ’s perfect rule. Of this, our brother Scots have been given a sharper reminder than most.
