This is the Day that the Lord has made

In a fairly dull and nondescript corner of the chapel, one of our members, AC, has designed an inspirational new scripture board. Quoting from Psalm 118, it reads

‘This is the day the Lord has made’.

When you read the whole psalm, it’s clear that the writer was not having a great day. He frequently talks of being surrounded by enemies and being close to falling. Don’t just rejoice in the Lord in those days that go well. Rejoice in Him when days go badly, for it is then that He shall deliver you; it is then that the second line of the verse comes into its own:

‘We will rejoice and be glad in it.’
