Flopdown

I see several European countries are once more locking down and shutting up in a bid to defy the virus. Whereas the first lockdown might have been defensible, subsequent ones have proved ineffective yet terribly costly. Quite why otherwise sensible nations like the Dutch and Austrians cannot see this, I do not know. Her Majesty’s government, not led by a man known for sensibility, is thankfully downplaying the likelihood of such a move on our own island. Let us pray another one is not imposed. Those Christians who bother to attend public worship learned a lesson which few in Britain have appreciated since the 1680s- the wonderful preciousness of live fellowship without fear of molestation.

Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,

And into His courts with praise.
