Fresh Fruit

It was nice to eat some fresh raspberries the last time I spent an afternoon at chapel. Even fresher than getting them out of a bag from the day’s market, I plucked my own from the bush in the chapel garden. One doesn’t get fresher than that.

It is good to hear sermons and talks, to read books and study commentaries; I really mean that. Yet reading the Bible for oneself is the freshest way of receiving God’s word. Tinned food is acceptable; frozen food is fine; fresh food is good but food just picked is superb: so read the Bible.
