Male And Female He Created Them

The Coalition for Marriage reports that the Mayor of London has pledged to stop the use of the term ‘ladies and gentlemen’ on London’s public transport because ‘the idea that people are either male or female is offensive’.

Many Christians, and common-sense driven non-Christians, will roll their eyes. A few people born women wish to be men, and a few men wish to be women. To cater for this, and not to cause offence, we have slowly begun the process of blurring and then removing the distinction of male and female. Yet this should not take us by surprise. It yet another of man’s attempts at rebelling against the divine order:

‘In the day that God created man, He made him in the likeness of God. 2 He created them male and female, and blessed them and called them Mankind in the day they were created’ (Genesis 5).

As the appointed day of Christ’s return approaches, so man’s rebellion and Babel-building will reach new levels.
