Maundy Communion

Tonight, we studied the Last Supper and Jesus' arrest and mock trial before the Sanhedrin. So familiar and yet so overwhelming. Afterwards, we shared communion, passing around the elements, one to another.

The day is called Maundy Thursday. In the Latin, mandatum is used for command, when the Lord commands his disciples to love one another. Maundy is a corruption of this. We washed not each others' feet, but we did obey the command to proclaim His death until He comes.
