Passports to Nowhere

A number of people I know are deeply agitated by Her Majesty’s Government’s alleged plans for mass vaccinations and attendant ‘passports’. I agree that any restrictions or impositions regarding Covid vaccinations are draconian and illiberal. Yet I wonder what would happen if these fellow Christians, who are currently exciting themselves about such prospects, were as gripped by the gospel, by the need for sanctification, by the requirement to observe the public ordinances of worship. ‘Tis a pity that civilian affairs prove so much more interesting than obeying the orders of our Commanding Officer. But then, many of these folk are only in the Territorials. They know the drill, but for them, religion is just a weekend hobby.

No soldier gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to please the one who enlisted him.
