Professing Lies

The poster boy of the diversity, equality and inclusion movement at Cambridge Universality has been exposed a sham. Professor Jason Arday was revealed by journalists to be a plagiarist, a fantasist and a plain, old-fashioned liar. These people have always existed and always shall; that this one is black makes little difference. What the affair has exposed, which is far more worrying, is the deeper rot at the heart of British institutions. How did Cambridge University, one of the world’s foremost centres of academic excellence, appoint such an patently unqualified candidate as a professor? Did they lack the basic intelligence exercised by any other employer in assessing the sincerity of a candidate’s claims? Were they infatuated by the dizzying spectacle of employing a good-looking black guy with long hair, demonstrating how ethically correct they are, the old stuffiness of privileged cobwebs blown clean away? Cambridge’s reputation has taken a well-deserved battering from which I hope it will recover. It will do this by returning to common sense instead of obsessing over pseudo-scientific theories about white privilege.

The other troubling issue concerns the media and the police. Professor Liar dismissed the investigation into his honesty as a right-wing smear. Consequently, the police investigated the reporter, Jack Grove, who was trying to reveal the truth. The Metropolitan Police spent four months investigating the case, which was ultimately closed without taking action. Grove was advised not to contact Arday again due to concerns about his mental health; a liar is protected by the police while a journalist doing his job is warned off by the new Woke establishment.

Shame on the police and shame on the University of Cambridge. Transfixed on showing how un-racist they are, they enthusiastically protected and succoured a liar who took a job that someone else deserved more. Britain’s institutions were once solid and dependable, honest and reliable. Each one has fallen to the Cult of Woke; each one would sooner make merry before the altar of nonsense than concentrating on doing the jobs for which they were founded and continue to be paid.

The more corruption I see here below, the more I yearn for the incorruption I am promised up there, above. Come, Lord Jesus!
