Southern Marsh Orchid

This Southern Marsh Orchid I saw growing in a garden lawn. According to the Wildlife Trust,

It has disappeared from 20% of its historical range. The reduction is almost certainly due to changing agricultural practices and the draining of damp pastures.

If anything, its increased rarity makes its pretty flowers all the lovelier, for one can no longer take its presence for granted. In these days of closed churches and compromised denominations, true Christian fellowship is rendered all the sweeter.
