The King's Easter Message
We live in times when Great Britain's political leaders seem to delight in celebrating and commemorating the holy days of every religion under the sun, while neglecting the faith that once characterised the nation. The emphases of His Majesty's Easter message, above, are theologically weak, but it is a welcome relief to those of us in Great Britain who still hold to the faith of our fathers -the saving, transforming and glorious gospel of Jesus Christ, delivered once and for all unto the saints, and which once made Albion a blessing to the world.
O Lord our God arise,
Scatter our enemies,
And make them fall!
Confound their politics,
Frustrate their knavish tricks,
On Thee our hopes we fix,
God save us all!
From every latent foe,
From the assassins blow,
God save the King!
O’er his thine arm extend,
For Britain’s sake defend,
Our father, prince, and friend,
God save the King!
Thy choicest gifts in store,
On him be pleased to pour,
Long may he reign!
May he defend our laws,
And ever give us cause,
To sing with heart and voice,
God save the King!
