Celebrating Kirk

I think I was the only person in the world not to have even heard of Charlie Kirk before this month. Then, after his horrific murder on the tenth, I read of him everywhere. Although a lot of people have expressed their sorrow for his death by prefixing it with ‘I may not have agreed with anything he said but…’, and have offered sympathy to his widow and fatherless tots, others have not been so kind. I have been appalled by the nasty celebration of his death which some of his political and religious opponents have been publicly sharing, some of whom have lost their jobs as a result.

If your ideology, religion, made-up gender or political inclination causes you to rejoice at the death of a young father, go and search your heart, change it and repent of your evil. If you can justify killing a man because you can’t agree with his opinions, there is something very, very wrong with you.

Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

-Isaiah 5:20
