St Wilfrid's, Halton

St Wilfrid’s Church in the Lune Valley village of Halton I have written about already, at least its tall cross which stands in its grounds. Yet within the building, there are more ancient remains. Grave covers, more Saxon crosses, carved saints peering out from lidless eyes. How times have changed since those days. How much more advanced we are! Yet our sinfulness and inherent fallenness is no better than theirs; the remedy for our perdition is the same as theirs: Christ crucified. Times change and people alter; and yet again, nothing changes.

If your life seems drab, or hopeless, or nearly over, it is not some new solution you need, but God's old remedy: Jesus Christ, who came into the world to save sinners.

The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. Ecclesiastes 1:9.
