Great Bridges: Clapham

At the Dales village of Clapham is an attractive stone bridge over Clapham Beck dating to the eighteenth century. There has been many a photograph taken on this spot for it is picturesque and charming in equal measure. Yet see how narrow it is: one might pedal over it on a bicycle or push a perambulator, but scarcely pass another doing the same thing. It is a narrow way, just like the one that leads to life. Beautiful, yes, but narrow, certainly.

Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Matthew 7:14
