Banksia

This is Banksia spinulosa, or Hairpin, and is named after the famous English botanist Sir Joseph Banks. It is only found on the eastern Australia coast, and it was a delight to spot it growing on cliffs about Newcastle. Is it not peculiarly and aptly named? Who would have thought such a variety of flower existed except they saw it on that distant coast? If God’s creative genius can still surprise us in this world, how much more in the world to come, with its unimaginable and indescribable wonders?

But as it is written, "eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him". 1 Cor 2:9
