Taique
Taique has dark green holly-like leaves and red, trumpet-shaped flowers. I observed it growing in a churchyard in Kendal, and having been studying Paul's letters to the Thessalonians, its flowers reminded me of the angelic trumpet. There are five New Testament references to angels and trumpets, and their blowing seems to herald events connected with the end times. Whether these are real instruments (which is my inclination) or metaphor for an eardrum-splitting pitch of supernatural booming, we cannot presently be certain. Suffice to say that the affairs of this world shall one day be rudely interrupted by the great Judge before whom mighty heralds shall blast the airwaves.
And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. Matthew 24:31, NKJV
