Anti-Queen

I was in London last week and guess who I bumped into? I’ll give you some clues. She was quite elderly, wore a pink dress with matching hat, stepped out of a smart Rolls Royce and was about 30 feet from the gates of Buckingham Palace. Did you guess it was the Queen? Well done. In fact, it was a Queen-look-alike. Although this actress was good enough to throw the Japanese tourists’ cameras into a fit of frenetic activity, she didn’t fool me.

For a start, she had no security with her. Secondly, the Rolls Royce from which she stepped was a modern model, not one of the 1950s Phantoms. Thirdly, the car lacked the royal insignia. Fourthly, she was unaccompanied by a lady-in-waiting or Lord Lieutenant. Fifthly, although bearing a strong resemblance to her Britannic Majesty, she didn’t totally look the part..

The Lord Jesus warned that before He returned, there would be false Messiahs and ‘Christs’ claiming to be Him:

And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. Matthew 24:4-5

Many will say similar things to Him, others may even perform miracles. But His sheep know His voice. If someone you see claims to be Jesus Christ returned, don’t believe him. For when he actually comes, no-one at all will have any doubt whatsoever:

Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen. Rev 1:7
