I Will Make Darkness Light Before Them

I had a couple of visitors during my weekly afternoon at the chapel with the doors wide open. One was a church member wishing to talk, the other, arriving about twenty minutes later, a swallow. Can you spot him in the photograph? He just circled around not knowing where to go, eventually resting atop the curtain rail. In the meantime, I closed as many of the curtains as possible, except the one on which he was sitting. The room being darker, the exit appeared brighter, and out he flew to depopulate the area of insects and feed his young.

Do not be troubled if the light grows dim and your knowledge of His will seems slight. A closed door is sometimes as helpful as an open one, and darkness often points us to the light.

¶ And I will bring the blind by a way, that they knew not, and lead them by paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them. Isaiah 42:16, Geneva Bible
