The Pastor's Second Coronagate Email

Dear friends,

This evening, the government tightened its advice regarding public gatherings. With a heavy heart, I urge you to stay in your homes on Sunday. We have held public worship at Martin Top for 200 years and it breaks my heart that this proud record should be broken on my watch. Tonight I have wept and prayed, seeking His will. When I stand before the Lord, I will have to give an account of my actions this day. I am torn between obeying the government and keeping you all safe, and obeying the scriptural warrant to meet together.

I will be at the chapel with *** on Sunday. Prayers will be said and a sermon will be recorded and uploaded. We may even video. Furthermore, I'll include a Bible study on the blog section daily and begin a system of phone calls to offer support.

I know many of you will be disappointed by this. It disappoints me also and I am shamed by the whole episode. My brave words earlier in the week are but now hollow sounds.

I pray you all keep safe and grow in grace.
