Americans on the British

Britain and America were allies in the Second World War. The following link is to a film made by the US Government for their own soldiers who were to move to Britain in the course of the war. Many ordinary Americans were not naturally sympathetic towards the British: their empire, monarchy and manners were anachronistic and theirs was the very nation that resisted American independence. They even burned down the White House in 1812. The film was aimed at restoring mutual respect and it's well worth a watch:
