Creeping Barberry
Berberis repens, commonly known as creeping mahonia or creeping barberry, seems to benefit from disturbance in forest ecosystems. Forest fires, and logging in particular, seem to cause it to grow the quicker and reproduce with greater zeal.
Marvel not that the Lord seldom allows His people to live quiet lives of ease and contentment. When there is burning and lopping, and we are disturbed and disrupted, we grow much better.
...Through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Romans 5:2-4, New King James Version
