Even in beautiful countryside, I lurk, says Death. Blackbrook Wood Viewpoint to the west of Sheffield offers good views of attractive countryside, a reminder of why our land is precious and a gift from the Creator. A lovely bench is provided, too, and with a dedication upon it to a gentleman called Nigel. Tragically, Nigel was killed in New York on this day 25 years ago by pious murderers. They had hijacked a plane and flew it into the World Trade Center in which he was working, and he died a nasty, painful death along with 2,752 others. I only hope that poor Nigel cried out to God in those final seconds, to the God of the Bible, not the god of the moon, who graciously hears and responds to all who seek Him, even as the last breath leaves the lungs.

According to Worldmetrics, between the years 2000 and 2020, devotees of the Religion of Peace caused 320,000 civilian deaths worldwide. As the influence of Islam grows in this nation, the calls for tolerance, respect and equality will slowly quieten, and the demands for submission and conversion increase. As the scimitars and shamshirs are whetted and honed, let us pray that Almighty God stays the hand of evil and brings to saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ those who currently deny Him and persecute His people.
