Primitive in Threshfield

The Primitive Methodist Chapel at Threshfield dates to 1878 and sits by the rather busy junction that diverts cars to Grassington. The winter sky provided a backdrop for the gnarled, leafless branches, its grounds covered by decaying leaves and broken twigs. I am not sure if it is currently put to secular use or no use, but it was built for Christ’s honour and a place from where His gospel and teachings might sound. It is like humans who were also designed to bear God’s light and live His way, but have now decayed into spiritual ignorance. People often drive past this old chapel and wistfully wonder if ‘something could be done with it’. I wonder if the angels look at lost human beings, and say the same.
The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined. Isaiah 9:2
