Roger's Reflections 3

Call me old fashioned, but around our house I have a number of plaques with Bible verses.  In my ‘library’ I have above the door ‘For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified’.  The verse has been the foundation of my ministry.

During this time of isolation one of the things I am doing is painting Bible texts on stones, so now we have six to behold on the 92 steps down from our house to the River Wharfe.  I am now working on some for Yorkshire Camps where there is lovely walkway through the woods there.

However, we have a plaque which is a favourite, though it is not a Bible verse, but I share it with you.  Oh for more of this attitude.  It reads:

God has give me another day

   to hear the wonders He has spoken …

   to see the beauty of His face …

   to enjoy the pleasure of His company …

   to walk the pathways of His grace …

   to know the delight of His presence …

   to fulfil the desires of His heart …

   to discover the treasures of His love …

What a day this will be!
